GamesRadar’s Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Review is Exemplary
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for PlayStation 4 is finally here and everyone is wondering: How does it stack up against other entries in the legendary franchise? Is it worthy of the price tag? If a fan still laments the loss of old-school turn-based gameplay, will he or she still enjoy themselves? These are questions that any good critic should seek to answer in a review, so we set out to find an informed, enthusiastic analysis that hits all the high points.
We found it at GamesRadar, where critic Becky Cunningham doesn’t hold back. She dives into the nuts and bolts of the game’s story and setting with gusto, which is precisely what fans of the series will appreciate. Furthermore, the review seeks to explain the atmosphere and style of the game, as opposed to simply examining the base mechanics. When it comes toΒ Final Fantasy, whether it’s a main franchise installment or a spin-off, the environment, characters and atmosphere are always a top priority.
It’s also a pretty well-written and well-paced review, so the reader emerges satisfied. You don’t really feel as if you need to read more reviews in order to get a better idea of the game, and that’s always a bonus.
Congrats, Becky!
Why We Like It:
— The critic in question understands the intended audience and as such, approaches the review in the correct manner. This is exactly the kind of evaluation fans will enjoy and appreciate.
— Rather than writing a lot of tedious paragraphs that explain the complex gameplay mechanic, that complexity is blended with other elements of the experience.
— There’s a nice balance between the positives and negatives, so the reader gets the full picture when completing the review. This isn’t easy to do.

While Final Fantasy is mostly dead to me, I don’t mind games like Crisis Core for handheld. It doesn’t feel like FF so I can just enjoy an action game and pretend it’s called something else. π
I’m glad it turned out okay but I think this one is a little beyond me…don’t like hammering on buttons. Just want an RPG.
You and everyone else who used to love Final Fantasy. π
But I give these games a pass because they’re spinoffs. If Type-0 is anything like Crisis Core, I’m sure I’ll have fun.
