OnlySP Remains Faithful and Committed to the Campaign

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find games that only feature a single-player campaign. We say there’s nothing wrong with the addition of online multiplayer as a feature, but some will argue that if developers used all their resources to focus solely on single-player, campaigns would be better.

Perhaps that’s a valid argument. And if you’re one of those who prefer the single-player story to online action, you should visit OnlySP.

Site owner Nick Calandra says his team “puts hours upon hours of hard work into the site to make sure we provide the best content possible and build a strong community.” They’re not big on “ridiculous fanboy wars,” as their focus remains firmly centered on single-player entertainment.

Murdered: Soul Suspect won't have multiplayer, either, and yet, it could be one of the most original games of 2014.

Being comprised entirely of gaming veterans, we at VGRHQ appreciate a site that continues to pay homage to single-player experiences. While it’s true that multiplayer has helped bring video games into the mainstream limelight, it’s also true that we shouldn’t leave single-player purity behind.

Some of the most memorable interactive experiences in history were single-player-only, and this should never be forgotten. Therefore, we honor OnlySP for carrying the torch and reminding people that in fact, not everyone is jumping online in November to play the latest Call of Duty. Not everyone wants to be connected constantly to play their games.

It’s a worthy endeavor and as such, they’ve been added to our growing list of Honored Sources. Congrats, guys!

Love single-player and always will. I just hope it never disappears…the world is so multiplayer crazy right now.

I know. I’m tired of seeing tons of DLC for multiplayer and not much for single-player, too.

There’s some great single-player DLC out there (like the expansions for Bioshock: Infinite) but yeah, you’re right. Not enough.

It’s nice to see a site dedicated to the “old-fashioned” single-player campaign.

I don’t care what happens with the rest of the industry; if it doesn’t have a story and I’m forced to go online, I’m not interested.
