Predict the Review Score For: Bloodborne

It has a tremendous amount of potential, but will it disappoint like so many titles before it?

It has a tremendous amount of potential, but will it disappoint like so many titles before it?

Once again, we ask the gaming community to predict the review scores for a highly anticipated title.

This time around it’s Bloodborne, the PlayStation 4 exclusive courtesy of From Software. It will launch in the US on March 24 and in the UK three days later; the question is, will it receive the super high scores gamers are hoping to see? Traditionally, this particular developer has fared well with critics, as Demon’s Souls and both Dark Souls games received widespread acclaim.  At the same time, the market may treat Bloodborne as a new IP, simply because it lacks an established franchise name.

We’ve been hearing mostly positive feedback from those who have gone hands-on with the title in question, but there are a few dissenting voices. Furthermore, PS4 exclusives haven’t done as well as anticipated thus far in the new generation. The first to disappoint critics was the launch title, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and while inFamous: Second Son did relatively well, it didn’t hit those lofty 9+ scores. And we all know about the fate of The Order: 1886.

So, what do you say? What scores will we see in a few weeks’ time?

Between 8.5 and 9.0.

I really don’t get the appeal of the Demon’s Souls or Dark Souls games but critics always seem to love them to death.

Around an 8. I’m hearing some things about the game’s variety and length that aren’t that great…but the hardcore will always love these types of games, anyway.

9s and up. I expect nothing but brilliance from…uh…From Software. 🙂

I expect greatness, too, but that doesn’t necessarily mean all critics will reward it. 😉

Exactly. We saw that with The Order.

Mostly 8s, with a few 9s and 7s sprinkled in.

I’m hoping mostly 9s but I have a feeling it might be in the mid-8s…seems impossible for critics to give PS4 exclusives a 9+ score these days.

Happy to see I was a little wrong. 😉

Me too. 😀
