Time to Predict the Review Scores: Murdered: Soul Suspect

Will Murdered: Soul Suspect be the captivating crime drama it's supposed to be?

For those who are seeking something new, Murdered: Soul Suspect could be a diamond in the rough.

Arguably the last highly anticipated title before the summer drought kicks in, the latest from Square Enix blends mystery, puzzle-solving and adventure elements. The result? Hopefully something that feels fresh.

The question is, how do you think critics will respond?

These days, reviewers are often quick to applaud attempts at innovation and creativity, while they’re just as quick (if not quicker) to cast aspersions on the tried-and-true formulas. Therefore, given the current trend, Soul Suspect might score higher than anticipated.

The gameplay could be original and highly intriguing...provided it's implemented correctly.

Then again, critics have less and less patience for shoddy products that have obvious technical issues. Add the fact is that the next-gen consoles are here, and expectations – in terms of spit and polish – are higher than ever. On the surface, this game may not quite impress from a technical standpoint.

You never know, though. What say you? What kind of scores do you expect to see this week?

I’m predicting flop.

Review average in the 6 – 6.5 range.

This is really difficult to say. I wouldn’t be surprised to see 5s, but I also wouldn’t be surprised to see 8s.

I’ll just say 7.5 to be safe. 🙂

I have high hopes so my heart is saying 8 or 9, but my brain is saying no higher than 7.

I WANT it to get like 9s but sadly, I think it’ll get 6s.

Damn, I was going to say around a 6, which is where the Metacritic average seems to be hovering.
