How to keep coordinates visible in Minecraft Bedrock Realms
To keep coordinates visible in Minecraft Bedrock Realms, an authorized owner or administrator should enable Show Coordinates for the active Realm world. Ordinary members cannot assume they can change a shared world setting. Prefer the world-settings switch and leave Activate Cheats alone; displaying coordinates is a different choice from enabling cheats.
Owner or administrator: change the active world
- Open Minecraft Bedrock and select Play.
- Open the Realm's management or edit controls using the account authorized to manage it.
- Select the world that is actually active, then its game/world settings.
- Enable Show Coordinates and save or return through the interface as instructed.
- Join the Realm and verify that the position display remains visible during play.
Realms interfaces vary across platform and version, so distinguish the Realm's subscription settings from an individual world's gameplay settings. If you edit an inactive world slot, players in the active world may see no change. Check the world name before repeating the procedure.
Ask another member to confirm the display after reconnecting. This checks the shared setting rather than only what appeared on the owner's screen. If the setting later disappears, note whether the active world changed or a backup was restored.
Member: ask for the setting, not an account password
If the controls are unavailable to you, ask the owner to enable coordinates on the active world. Include the Realm and world name so they do not change another slot. You do not need their account credentials, subscription payment access, or an unrelated administrative role to explain the request.
If the owner intentionally keeps coordinates hidden, respect that rule. A private client overlay or other bypass is not the same as the owner choosing to display positions for the group. Agree on an alternative navigation convention if that is how the Realm is meant to be played.
What about the command?
Microsoft's Bedrock command reference identifies showcoordinates as the rule controlling the display. The command form is /gamerule showcoordinates true. Whether your session permits changing it depends on your role and the world configuration; use the settings switch when you want the clearest route without touching cheat settings.
If the command is rejected, stop and read the reason. Do not enable Activate Cheats just to make a copied command work. Mojang warns that enabling cheats in Bedrock permanently stops achievement earning in that world, even if you turn cheats off later. That warning concerns cheats, not merely the coordinate display.
Java's reduced-debug commands and F3 interface are different. Copying reducedDebugInfo into a Bedrock Realm is not the equivalent of turning on Show Coordinates.
If the switch is missing or will not stay on
Check the owner account, active world, and current stable game version first. Close and reopen the management interface before assuming a world download is necessary. Record any error and consult Minecraft support if the supported controls fail.
Downloading a Realm, changing a local copy, and replacing the server world is a more disruptive operation. It can overwrite progress made after the download. Do not use that as the first fix for a display setting. If support directs a replacement, coordinate downtime with players, keep a current backup, and verify which world is being uploaded.
Use the numbers without confusing the axes
The display is X, Y, Z. In an illustrative position of 120, 68, -40, the middle value is height, not north-south distance. Share all three values and the dimension with other players. A matching Overworld position does not identify the same place in the Nether.
Our Minecraft coordinate examples cover positive and negative directions in more detail. Once the Realm setting works, there is no need to leave a settings screen open: the position display is intended to remain available while you play.
